Pudong airport records over 5m foreign nationals in H1

Shanghai Pudong International Airport recorded over 5 million border crossings by foreign nationals in the first half of 2025, representing a 46 percent year-on-year increase, according to Shanghai's border inspection authorities.
Among these, more than 1.3 million international visitors entered China via the airport under visa-free policies, accounting for 53 percent of all international arrivals.
Visitors from South Korea, Japan, and the United States ranked as the top three sources of inbound travelers.
Over 30,000 tourists eligible for the 240-hour visa-free transit also passed through the airport, registering an 80 percent year-on-year increase.
