China Eastern debuts Spanish art-themed flight
A themed flight showcasing Spanish art operated from Shanghai to Chongqing in western China on Aug 5, marking the debut of China Eastern's specially decorated A350 aircraft.
The plane, which will serve both domestic and international routes, is scheduled to operate the inaugural Shanghai–Barcelona flight on Sept 26, according to the airline.
The A350 aircraft features cabin designs inspired by the works of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona and by Shanghai's historic Bund, offering passengers an immersive architectural and artistic experience in the air.
The Shanghai–Barcelona route will operate every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Tickets are available through China Eastern's official website and mobile app.
Both the themed flights and the Shanghai–Barcelona route were launched against the backdrop of the 50th anniversary of China–EU diplomatic ties and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain.
The series of activities also includes themed Shanghai–Barcelona bus routes jointly launched by China Eastern and Shanghai Jiushi (Group) Co Ltd. Covering key urban areas of Shanghai, the themed bus and flight routes will together create an artistic travel ecosystem for passengers.
