Shanghai's Museum of Art Pudong has confirmed that it will host an exhibition featuring masterpieces from the Louvre Museum.

This will be another major imported exhibition for the venue, following the ongoing Path to Modernity: Masterpieces from the Musée d'Orsay, Paris, which runs from June 19 to Oct 12.

Unlike the widely known European paintings, the upcoming exhibition will highlight treasures from India, Iran, and the Ottoman Empire, offering a rich display of traditions and artistic craftsmanship from these regions.

The final exhibition title and schedule are subject to change, with further details to be announced in September.

Earlier online posts suggested that the exhibition would be titled Empires Connected — Masterpieces from the Museum of Louvre, 16th to 19th Century and run from Dec 13, 2025, to May 6, 2026, featuring 100 works from the Louvre's collections.
