Holiday tips: Metro & government services schedule

This year's combined National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday runs from Oct 1 to 8. During this period, both metro services and government agencies will operate on adjusted schedules. Here's what you need to know to plan your activities.

Metro operations

Extended services: Lines 1, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 13 will operate on extended schedules starting Sept 30 and will continue through Oct 4.

Temporary closures: From Oct 1 to 6, East Nanjing Road Station on lines 2 and 10, and Yuyuan Garden Station on Line 14, will be temporarily closed from 4 pm daily. Yuyuan Garden Station on Line 10, however, will remain open.

Night services: On Oct 7 and 8, additional night trains will run on lines 1, 2, 10, and 17, with the last train departing at midnight.

Marriage registration offices

  • Oct 1 & 6: Open
  • Oct 2-5 & 7-8: Closed

Police station "comprehensive service windows"

  • Oct 1-6: Closed
  • Oct 7-11: Open

Note: Counters located in community service centers will follow the operating hours of the host center.

Traffic management service windows

  • Oct 1-8: Closed
  • Oct 9-11: Open
  • Starting Oct 13: Resume regular business hours

Exit & entry immigration services

  • Oct 1-8: Closed
  • Oct 9-11: Open

Shanghai Hongqiao One-Stop Service Center for Overseas Talent

  • Sept 27: Immigration services, 8:30 am to 5 pm
  • Sept 28 to 30: Open, 8:30 am to 5 pm
  • Oct 1-8: Closed
