Shanghai launches global supply chain hub in Hongqiao
Shanghai unveiled the Hongqiao Global Supply Chain Management Center Agglomeration Area on Sept 26.
Located at the Hongqiao International Central Business District, the initiative aims to establish a hub for large-scale supply chain management centers while advancing digitalization, green transformation, and internationalization in supply chain operations.
By integrating cross-regional resources, deploying cutting-edge technologies, and facilitating collaborative global expansion, the zone is shaping a robust ecosystem for supply chain management centers.
To achieve its vision, the Hongqiao district administration announced three coordinated action plans.
The first focuses on attracting leading global supply chain enterprises in key sectors.
The second provides comprehensive services for overseas investment and mergers.
The third promotes the adoption of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and blockchain for tailored, intelligent supply chain upgrades.
Hongqiao has already attracted leading companies such as Bosch, YTO Express, and Orient International.
These entities form a foundation for industries that include new energy vehicles, the digital economy, and life sciences, positioning the zone as a springboard for global supply chain expansion.
