China Eastern Airlines has commissioned the world's first C919 flight simulator delivered to an airline at its research and development center on Dec 19, marking a major milestone in operational support for China's domestically produced large aircraft.

The state-of-the-art full-motion simulator delivers realistic flight training, combining exceptional visual fidelity and computing capabilities. It addresses a critical gap in the airline's C919 training resources and is set to enhance both safety and operational efficiency.

Through this simulator, China Eastern Airlines plans to continuously refine the C919's performance by integrating insights from operations, training, and R&D.

By December, the airline's C919 fleet had logged over 40,000 safe flight hours, carried more than 2.45 million passengers, and cultivated a team of over 160 C919 pilots, including 70 instructor captains. The airline has also completed more than 10,000 hours of C919 flight training.

On the same day, China Eastern Airlines Research and Development Center and Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service Co Ltd signed a science and technology innovation cooperation agreement.

The partnership aims to advance C919 operation support, foster talent development, and drive technological innovation.

The agreement encompasses data sharing, technical training, collaborative laboratory development, and the development of next-generation training equipment and operational protocols for China's large domestically produced aircraft.
