Tesla's Shanghai plant powers 52% of automaker's global 2025 deliveries
Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory achieved a record monthly delivery of more than 97,100 vehicles in December, up 11 percent from the previous month.
This brought the factory's total delivery in 2025 to 851,000 vehicles, accounting for 52 percent of the EV maker's global deliveries.
The Shanghai factory reached a major milestone on Dec 10, rolling out its four millionth vehicle since operations began. On Dec 31, it marked another landmark with the production of Tesla's nine millionth vehicle globally.
As a cornerstone of the US automaker's global strategy, the Shanghai Gigafactory continued to supply markets across Asia-Pacific and Europe throughout 2025.
Tesla expanded its product lineup in China during the past year, introducing the refreshed Model Y and a six-seat luxury SUV, the Model Y L.
The company also upgraded the Model 3 and Model Y ranges with a new long-range rear-wheel-drive variant, offering a driving range of more than 800 kilometers.
The Model Y remained China's top-selling SUV over the past year and has led sales in the mid-to-high-end vehicle segment for four consecutive years.
To further stimulate demand, Tesla introduced sales incentives, including zero-interest financing for up to five years.
