Shanghai to host global AI developer summit

Shanghai will host the Global Developer Pioneers Summit 2026 from March 27 to 29, aiming to address industry challenges through technological solutions.

Held under the theme "Developers, Find, Find, Find", the summit is organized by the World Artificial Intelligence Conference Organizing Committee, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and the Xuhui district people's government in collaboration with the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Association.

The gathering seeks to accelerate the practical application of AI innovations by breaking the barriers between industry and research.

Rooted in Shanghai's ambition to become a leading global center for AI innovation, the summit will feature an AI carnival showcasing the integration of energy, computing power, science, and industry through immersive experiences illustrating technology's impact on city, industry and lifestyle.

Another key focus is the "super entrepreneur" ecosystem, which seeks to empower individual developers and small companies to turn technologies into real-world applications by connecting the providers and users of innovations through open-source ecosystems such as Agent and OpenClaw.

The summit aims to establish Shanghai as the "community of global developer communities". By leveraging the skills marketplace, it seeks to unlock the potential of Agentic AI and foster individual innovation across the AI sector.

The event will include an opening ceremony, an industry challenges competition, workshops covering topics such as AI models and computing power, immersive technology experiences, and a technology carnival.

The organizers are inviting global technology teams, research institutions, universities, developer groups, startups, and media partners to participate and help shape the next phase of AI advancement.
