More than 100,000 visitors attended the "Shanghai in My Mind 2026 – Spring Shanghai" pop-up events in Milan, Italy, from April 24 to 27.

Featuring 40 Shanghai cultural brands, the event showcased the city's vibrant culture and key events, including the China International Import Expo, the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix, and the World Design Cities Conference.

The pop-up highlighted Shanghai's innovative designs that blend traditional Chinese culture with modern elements across cuisine, cosmetics, and fashion, while also spotlighting iconic urban landmarks such as the Half Marathon Suzhou Creek and Zhujiajiao Ancient Town. During the event, nearly 10 prominent Italian brands explored potential collaborations with Shanghai brands.

Reimagining the concept of a newsstand, the installation was adorned with Shanghai's city flower, the white magnolia, and featured cutting-edge digital technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence, creating immersive experiences.

Edoardo Nieri, an Italian spatial designer who has lived in Shanghai for over a decade, drew inspiration from the city's development in designing the newsstand.

Chinese and international artists captured Shanghai's spirit of openness, innovation, and inclusion through artworks themed "Shanghai In My Mind".
