Spider-Man-themed land, new hotels take shape at Shanghai Disney Resort
Shanghai Disney Resort announced progress on several expansion projects on June 15, including its Spider-Man-themed land, which will become the resort's ninth themed area, as well as two new themed hotels and the expansion of Soaring Over the Horizon.
Installation of the red roller coaster track for the signature attraction in the highly anticipated Spider-Man-themed land has been completed. The new area will feature Shanghai Disneyland's first large-scale Marvel-themed attraction, alongside themed dining, shopping, and entertainment experiences.
The resort is developing its third and fourth themed hotels.
Officially named the Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel, the third hotel is located adjacent to the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel. Exterior construction is nearing completion, and the hotel is expected to open this winter.
Inspired by the Wishing Star, the 400-room hotel blends elements of Shanghai's architectural heritage with Art Nouveau influences. Guests will be able to enjoy views of both Shanghai Disneyland and Wishing Star Park, while the property will feature a themed swimming pool and recreational facilities.
The fourth hotel, situated near the park's main entrance, will provide visitors with additional accommodation options.
Beyond the new land and hotels, the resort is continuing to advance several enhancement projects. Among them, Soaring Over the Horizon is being expanded to increase guest capacity.
In March, the resort launched several new entertainment offerings, including the castle show The Heart of Magic, an updated version of Mickey's Storybook Express, and an enhanced edition of ILLUMINATE! A Nighttime Celebration, featuring a special finale created to mark the resort's 10th anniversary.
The resort is also developing a new residential community for frontline cast members, further supporting its long-term growth and operations.
