A departure lounge designed for passengers traveling with pets commenced operations at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport on June 18.

Spanning nearly 100 square meters in Terminal 2, the lounge provides services including short-term pet care, flight information, and travel guidance, according to the Shanghai Airport (Group) Co Ltd.

Passengers traveling with pets can enter the lounge free of charge upon registration by presenting a valid same-day boarding pass. Each passenger may bring one pet.

Operated as an independently managed facility, the lounge is equipped with pet storage lockers, play facilities, and washing and grooming stations. The indoor space features an air purification system and security equipment to ensure clean air circulation and operational safety.

In addition, the airport also offers special security check services for passengers traveling with pets.
