China International Cartoon and Game Expo to kick off in Shanghai
The 21st China International Cartoon and Game Expo (CCG Expo 2026) will be held at the Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing in Shanghai's Putuo district from July 4 to 6.
Before this event, the second Shanghai International Anime Month opened on June 29, linking three major industry events: the CCG Expo, BilibiliWorld, and the 23rd China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference (ChinaJoy 2026). Together, these events aim to foster globally recognized Chinese game and animation intellectual properties, promoting the high-quality development of digital cultural industries.
CCG EXPO 2026 is expected to energize Shanghai's summer cultural tourism market. The professional event focuses on tabletop and indie games, bringing together 214 exhibitors and independent designers showcasing over 450 selected titles. There is something for everyone, from hardcore gamers and tabletop enthusiasts to newcomers to role-playing games.
According to Cao Jun, a representative of the CCG Expo 2026 organizing team, 80 percent of the featured tabletop games come from domestic companies. The expo places strong emphasis on original Chinese content, particularly tabletop games inspired by intangible cultural heritage.
The indie game section features three dedicated zones, with GCORES PUBLISHING showcasing seven unique games for visitors to try. The tabletop area highlights family-friendly games, with major publishers such as Asmodee and YOKA presenting a range of blockbuster titles.
As a highlight of the month, the "Travel Through the City with TA" event will run from mid-July to late August, inviting players to explore Shanghai's landmarks and earn rewards.
