China Eastern Airlines has launched real-time push notifications for baggage tracking on Aug 14 at 68 domestic airports, enabling passengers to receive live updates on their checked luggage via the airline's mobile app.

Marking another major step in the carrier's digitalization of baggage services, the new notification service is designed to make the luggage transport process more transparent and fully traceable.

The service covers airports in cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Ningbo in Zhejiang province, Xiamen in Fujian province, Nanjing in Jiangsu province, Qingdao in Shandong province, Wuhan in Hubei province, Xi'an in Shaanxi province, and Chengdu in Sichuan province.

The airline plans to further expand its digital service to additional airports, providing comprehensive luggage updates to passengers nationwide, according to the carrier.
