Shanghai Disney Resort announced the latest update on the resort's ninth themed land, the Spider-Man-themed land, on Aug 16. After the ride system tracks were installed in June, the first ride vehicles are now in place, and testing is set to begin soon.

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios and chief creative officer of Marvel, said the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, or W.E.B., will debut in Shanghai when the new land opens. Inspired by Spider-Man and other Marvel superheroes, W.E.B. is a research and development hub where heroes, inventors, and engineers collaborate to develop and test cutting-edge technologies.

Shanghai Disney Resort also released a new concept image that reveals more details about the new themed land. A giant mechanical spider, developed by Peter Parker and W.E.B. inventors, stands out in the image as W.E.B.'s latest experiment in Shanghai, hinting at the inventive, high-speed adventure awaiting visitors.

Additionally, the resort unveiled mural projects inspired by Shanghai's innovative energy and forward-looking spirit. Created in collaboration with Chinese mural artists, the works reinterpret Spider-Man and other Marvel superheroes from a local perspective and reflect the resort's effort to create immersive experiences that celebrate local culture, spark imagination, and forge emotional connections with visitors.
