The 12th European International Art Festival concluded in Paris, where the Luming Wind Orchestra from Songjiang Minle School won the gold medal after performances in Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris. This marks the orchestra's second international gold medal, following its championship at the 10th World Orchestra Festival in Vienna two years ago.

Founded in 2011, the European International Art Festival aims to promote cultural exchanges between China and Europe. The orchestra participated in the festival's European tour, performing at venues in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France. Led by instructors Zhang Min and Zhang Chi, the orchestra performed several classic pieces during the festival.

Established in 2008, the Luming Wind Orchestra has more than 100 student members from primary to junior high school. The orchestra comprises two ensembles, with professional conductor Zhang Min serving as artistic director. A total of 35 students participated in the European tour, most of them primary school students. The youngest participant was 10 years old.

Zhou Jiangjin, a percussionist, also competed in the Vienna competition two years ago and has since become a core team member. "Communicating with musicians from all over the world through wind music feels amazing," Zhou said.

During the tour, the orchestra exchanged and performed with student music groups from the Netherlands, Belgium, Ecuador, and other countries.
