The 3rd Shanghai International Light Festival will take place from Sept 17 to Oct 16, with the main venue in Huangpu district and 16 sub-venues across the city.

The 30-day festival will feature 158 themed events. Most areas will be open to the public free of charge, while some special programs will require reservations or tickets.

Starting on the evening of Sept 17, Middle Huaihai Road subdistrict will launch the "Huaihai Wonder Night" series of nighttime activities, featuring a jazz parade, a dreamy bubble show, international puppet theater performances, and other activities.

1. Jazz parade

The Huaihai Wonder Night Jazz Parade will feature live jazz, dance and improvisation along the streets. Passersby are welcome to stop, watch and join the performances.

Event dates and time: 7:30 pm on Sept 17, 25, and 26

Parade route: Middle Jinling Road (Shanghai Plaza, Lippo Plaza, and Hong Kong Plaza) to Middle Huaihai Road (K11, Ruian Plaza, Shanghai Times Square, Lansheng Building, and Jinzhong Plaza)

2. Bubble show

The "Dreamlike" Light and Shadow Bubble Show will combine real bubbles with colorful lighting effects. Interactive bubble activities and surprise elements will also be available for visitors.

Venues: Shanghai Plaza and Jinzhong Plaza

3. Puppet show

The Shanghai Puppet Theater will bring five puppet productions to Middle Jinling Road and Middle Huaihai Road. The street performances will be free to attend, with no tickets or venue admission required.
