Sun PhuQuoc Airways unveils new Shanghai-Vietnam routes
Vietnam's Sun PhuQuoc Airways announced on Sept 17 that it will launch a daily direct flight between Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City.
The route will commence operations on Oct 15, marking the carrier's first daily nonstop service between China and Vietnam. The airline will operate seven round trips each week.
In addition, a Shanghai-Hanoi flight is expected to be launched in November, followed by a Shanghai-Phu Quoc Island route in March 2027.
With the launch of the new routes, travelers can combine city stays in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi with connecting flights to Phu Quoc for island holidays.
Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft will serve the Shanghai routes. Starting in October, the airline will introduce A330 wide-body jets, targeting a fleet of 32 planes by late 2026 and 100 by 2030.
