The 2026 Rolex Shanghai Masters concluded at Qizhong Tennis Center on Oct 18 with the first all-Spanish final on hard courts in ATP Masters 1000 history. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina defeated Rafael Jodar 1-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 to win the men's singles title.

"I cannot describe with words what I achieved in this Chinese swing. I never thought I would have two titles after two months out. But I'm really, really happy," said Davidovich Fokina, who claimed his first title in China at the Chengdu Open in September.

Earlier, Lucas Miedler and Neil Oberleitner took down Francisco Cabral and JJ Tracy 6-3, 6-4 to win the men's doubles title without dropping a set in five matches.

This year, 19 of the world's top 20 players competed in Shanghai. The tournament and its associated carnival attracted nearly 250,000 spectator visits. Of the total, around 33 percent were from Shanghai, 12 percent from overseas, and 55 percent from elsewhere in China. Sponsorship revenue and ticket revenue also reached record highs.

Looking ahead, the tournament will build on its role as a flagship event by launching a year-round program of professional, youth, and amateur competitions. The initiative aims to create an integrated tennis ecosystem spanning event operations, talent development, industry clustering, and public fitness, and to help transform Qizhong Tennis Center and the surrounding area from a tournament venue into a hub for the tennis industry.

The tournament will also serve as a platform for innovation, exploring new models of cross-sector collaboration and helping attract investment. It will continue to support Shanghai's ambition to become a globally renowned sports hub and highlight the city's appeal and investment potential as an international metropolis.
