Shanghai airports to add new flights to strengthen global connectivity
Flights connecting Shanghai and Algiers, Algeria's capital, will launch in the upcoming winter-spring season, as part of efforts to improve the global connectivity of Shanghai's two airports, according to Shanghai Airport (Group) Co Ltd.
In addition to adding the new Shanghai-Algiers flight, Pudong airport will increase flight frequency to destinations including Frankfurt, Germany; Auckland, New Zealand; Sydney, Australia; Singapore; Bangkok, Thailand; Jeju, South Korea; and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Among them, the world's longest one-way flight linking Shanghai with Buenos Aires, Argentina's capital, with a stop in Auckland will add two weekly flights, bringing the route to four a week starting Dec 5.
Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport are expected to handle 2,511 flights daily, up 3.8 percent year-on-year during the winter-spring season, which runs from Oct 25 through Mar 27, 2027.
