A new permanent market featuring popular foreign products from the annual China International Import Expo was unveiled on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street in Shanghai on May 3, coinciding with the ongoing Shanghai Shopping Festival.

Constructed by Greenland Holding Group, the CIIE Bazaar City Arena aims to create a sustained positive impact stemming from the CIIE, providing long-term benefits for exhibitors.

Spanning 500 square meters on the fourth floor of No 558 East Nanjing Road, the market is divided into thematic zones – dedicated country pavilions, a cosmopolitan food court, an interactive craft area, and a live broadcast area.

Endorsed by diplomatic consulates and trade bodies, the market showcases an array of over 5,000 products and distinctive goods across 25 country-specific pavilions. Noteworthy highlights include products from nations involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and the construction of the Silk Road e-commerce cooperation pilot zone, offering a treasure trove of snacks, beverages, beauty products, apparel, leather goods, and jewelry.

During the Shanghai Shopping Festival, the CIIE Bazaar City Arena will buzz with a variety of promotional endeavors, luring consumers with enticing discounts. Adding a contemporary flair, 20 livestreaming episodes will feature influencers and merchants introducing new products, narrating cultural anecdotes, and highlighting artisanal expertise.

The festival's allure has drawn global vendors to present their premium products at the market. Standout items include Argentine leather bags, Australian wool throws, Sri Lankan ceylon tea, and Mongolian mutton sausages, all showcasing the traders' zeal to leverage the festival's commercial opportunities.

Fusing trade, culture, and tourism, the market will collaborate with consulates to orchestrate an array of cultural and business events. From product debuts to art showcases and culinary samplings, the venue promises visitors an immersive journey through a world of diverse regional delights.
