The finals of the 2024 National College 3×3 Basketball League, organized by the China Student Sports Federation, concluded on Nov 17. The event was part of the Shanghai International Sports Trend Culture Festival, which ran from Nov 2 to Dec 15.

The finals took place at Jing'an Park, where the excitement of the games blended with the area's cultural landmarks and natural scenery. Both players and spectators enjoyed a unique experience that combined sports, culture, and commerce in one of Shanghai's most vibrant districts.

Over the weekend of Nov 16 to 17, shopping areas and cultural sites in Jing'an attracted large crowds of coaches, athletes, and fans. They explored a variety of activities, including shopping, exhibitions, and entertainment, taking full advantage of what the district had to offer.

Special booths at the event distributed consumption and cultural tourism coupons, which attendees could easily claim by scanning QR codes. These coupons added an interactive element and offered discounts tailored to local attractions.

After the games, visitors had plenty of options for further experiences. They could enjoy a meal or coffee at Jiuguang Department Store or Reel Mall, shop for the latest sports styles at Jing An Kerry Centre, or visit exhibitions at the Shanghai Exhibition Center or HKRI Taikoo Hui — all while using their coupons.

The response to the coupons was overwhelmingly positive. According to the district's commerce and tourism authorities, the initial batch of consumption coupons released on Nov 15 via the Alipay app sold out in just four seconds.

Retailers such as Jiuguang Department Store and Sephora reported double-digit sales growth during the finals. Hotel performance also improved, with all accommodation coupons claimed in less than two hours. From Nov 14 to 17, hotel revenues in Jing'an surged by 27 percent compared to the previous week, and the number of consumers increased by 18 percent. Some hotels reached 90 percent occupancy.
