Global Harbor shopping mall — a landmark in Shanghai's Putuo district — has been enhancing its blend of culture, commerce and tourism with exclusive product launches, shopping and exhibitions.

Boosting consumption with coupons

Starting March 1, Enjoy Shanghai consumption coupons can be used at Global Harbor for dining, hospitality and entertainment — including 40 restaurants, the Hyatt Regency Shanghai Global Harbor and at AMG RealD Cinema.

A representative from Hyatt Regency emphasized its flexible redemption options through online travel agencies and UnionPay on-site shop and store payments.

This year, dining outlets within the hotel — including the buffet restaurant, Chinese dining hall, lobby lounge and sky bar — will also accept the dining vouchers, providing an all-in-one experience for guests.

The mall's World Port Town is said to further intensify the experience, offering a diverse range of global cuisines from Greece and Spain.

Additionally, skincare brand Wu You is hosting its first-ever pop-up event at Global Harbor, featuring four interactive stations where visitors can complete challenges to receive gifts.

First exhibitions

On the fourth floor of Global Harbor, the national exhibition the Awakening of Ancient Shu has become a major attraction. Occupying 300 square meters, the display offers an immersive journey through the ancient Shu civilization.

Visitors, grouped in teams of four, wear virtual reality headsets to explore the mysteries of artifacts such as bronze trees, standing human figures and mythical masks. The experience, lasting 40 minutes, blends digital art with historical interpretation, providing a captivating look into China's past 3,000 years ago.

At a height of 258 meters above ground, Global Harbor's observation deck is now open to the public. As one of the highest open-air observation decks in Shanghai, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city's skyline. Currently, a public naming contest is underway for the platform, with the winner in line to receive lifetime access.
