The Inlet turns into pet-friendly paradise with fab events

Pet lovers in Shanghai now really have something new to celebrate in the form of a magical revamp of an already great venue called The Inlet!

The shopping and cultural complex featuring Shanghai's unique shikumen, or stone-gate houses — located in Hongkou district's Life Hub @ Bund Central — has been upgraded into a pet-friendly block.

The transformation brings a host of exciting pet-themed activities, markets and services — making it a must-see destination for pet owners and their furry friends.

1. Pet-themed art exhibition

This heartwarming exhibition — curated in collaboration with the pet service brand iBabyGo and the Shanghai Adoption Day animal welfare platform — proudly displays a collection of pet photos contributed by enthusiastic pet owners, creating an adorable and therapeutic space for visitors.

2. "Cat & Dog Paradise" pet market

As The Inlet's signature market, the "Cat & Dog Paradise" Pet Market offers a wide range of pet treats, accessories, creative pet-themed products, wellness services — and even pet adoption opportunities. This lively market is the "purrrfect" haven for pet enthusiasts. Visitors can also enjoy interactive events like the "Pet Sitting Competition," where well-trained pets show off their discipline and patience.

3. Newly launched "Pets Park"

Adding to all the fun, The Inlet has introduced the brand-new Pets Park, an exclusive playground for mankind's little companions. Located next to the historic Royal Hotel — now the Haipai Cultural Center — this green space provides a dedicated social venue for pets to interact and play.

Beyond events: Thriving pet-friendly community

Recognizing the growing role of pets in urban life, The Inlet has positioned itself at the forefront of pet-friendly commerce and social engagement. By merging pet-friendly retailing, emotional wellness experiences and community-driven activities, it offers a very special shopping and leisure environment that benefits both pets and their owners.

One major highlight is the arrival of King Pets Department Store, making its Hongkou debut at The Inlet. Spanning over 1,000 square meters, this all-in-one pet lifestyle hub offers premium pet products from around the world and integrates cross-functional spaces for human-pet interaction.

What's more, nearly 40 pet-friendly restaurants, cafes and shops have joined The Inlet's initiative, adopting a pet-friendly charter to enhance the visitor experience. Special facilities such as designated pet elevators, complimentary pet strollers and hygiene stations have also been introduced.

- By metro

  • Line 10: Exit at North Sichuan Road Station (Exit 3).
  • Line 3/4: Exit at Baoshan Road Station (Exit 1), walk along Baoshan Road and turn left at Wujin Road.

- By bus

Take bus Nos 21, 52, 65, 167, 305, or 854 to North Sichuan Road/Wujin Road stop, then walk along North Sichuan Road to Wujin Road.

- By car

Parking is available at the Life Hub @ Bund Central.
