Shanghai's Suhewan MixC World shopping mall is currently hosting its Sniff & Stroll Day — a really special event that has quickly become a must-visit for pet owners and animal lovers alike.

Running through to April 26, it invites folks to explore a pet-friendly wonderland designed to entertain both humans and their furry companions.

All the festivities are set against the backdrop of the expansive Suhewan parklands, where everyone can take part in a wide variety of activities. From snapping photos with adorable dog and cat art installations scattered across the park, to having a picnic or letting pets run freely on the vast green lawns, there's no shortage of fun to be had.

What's more, pet-friendly pop-up shops offer a curated selection of creative pet products, while live performances and workshops add an extra layer of merriment to the event.

For many, the real highlight of Sniff & Stroll Day is a quirky outdoors display of endearing pet figurines by illustrator Liu Jiayin, whose playful and heartwarming artworks bring the entire happening even more to life.

Liu's work features 100 whimsical dog and cat figures, including her famous Puppy White character, symbolizing the sheer joy of shared experiences between humans and their pets. These art pieces are spread throughout the open-air spaces of the mall, blending with the surrounding architecture to create an immersive environment where visitors can escape into a world of imagination.

For those seeking great pet products, Kashima, a pop-up store in the iconic Shikumen-style Shenyu Lane, is not to be missed. It features a range of creative pet items, including Snoopy-themed cat beds and Crayon Shin-Chan accessories, which have proven particularly popular with pet owners.

Since its opening in 2022, Suhewan MixC World has embraced its parkland setting, fostering a harmonious relationship between people and nature. The mall has consistently promoted pet-friendly initiatives, including well-known pet brands like Ayuki, Zhuazhua and Pet First — as well as the introduction of Pets & Fresh, a first-of-its-kind pet fresh food supermarket.

As part of its ongoing commitment to pet lovers, Suhewan MixC World has partnered up with the local pet community called "pidan" for their Soft Street Plan project — launching pet-friendly packages and a nifty Guide to Stress Prevention for Out-of-Home Cats & Dogs.

The initiative involves over 30 participating retailers offering additional support to customers traveling with their pets.
