Suzhou Creek Tourism offers discounts for SIFF ticket holders
With the upcoming Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) about to rock the city with excitement on June 13-22, Suzhou Creek Tourism is partnering up with the event's organizers to offer a special promotion for moviegoers and SIFF guests.
In a limited-time offer, visitors holding a 2025 SIFF guest pass or a ticket stub from any festival screening can enjoy exclusive cruise ticket discounts via the Suzhou Creek Tourism (Chinese: 悠游苏州河) WeChat mini program.
From June 13 to June 27, standard sightseeing cruises will be available at significantly reduced prices:
- 30-minute cruises: 51 yuan (about $7)/person (originally 60 yuan)
- 60-minute cruises: 85 yuan/person (originally 100 yuan)
- 90-minute cruises: 136 yuan/person (originally 160 yuan)
That's an across-the-board 15 percent discount, not including themed cruises such as dining or music experiences.
According to cruise operators, the promotion is available even after the screening ends, provided the guest keeps their original film ticket stub. Passengers must bring a valid ID and either the SIFF guest pass or the paper ticket stub for on-site verification before boarding. Each stub or pass can only be used once per cruise trip.
This is not the first time that Suzhou Creek Tourism has embraced what they call the "ticket stub economy".
Earlier this year, passengers who presented cruise ticket stubs were eligible for exclusive deals or free products at selected retailers in the nearby chic Tian'an 1000 Trees commercial complex.
