CIIE Bazaar adds global flavors to Nanjing Road
As the eighth China International Import Expo, scheduled for Nov 5-10, draws near, a pre-expo celebration has kicked off in Shanghai.
Since Aug 4, the CIIE Bazaar on Nanjing Road has been offering locals and tourists a taste of what's to come, with international goods, food tastings, and interactive fun running continuously until the expo opens.
Located at No 558 East Nanjing Road, the CIIE Bazaar City Arena features two themed zones: national classics and global premieres, designed to satisfy both nostalgic cravings and the excitement of discovering something new.
The national classics area highlights popular returning brands such as Belgian chocolates, Mongolian cashmere products, coffee from Timor-Leste, and more. Visitors can also get a first look at upgraded items including Italian tuna, Malaysian durian ice cream, and Sri Lankan tea.
The global premieres zone showcases several new products set to officially debut at the 8th CIIE. These include Danish butter cookies, creative coffee merchandise from Timor-Leste, Manuka honey water (MGO83+) from New Zealand, bird's nest health products from Indonesia, and more.
Shoppers spending at least 88 yuan (about $12.24) in a single transaction can enter a lucky draw, with a guaranteed prize. There's also a large wish wall where visitors can write down the CIIE items they're most excited to try. Those who share photos with designated hashtags on platforms like Xiaohongshu or Weibo have the chance to win exclusive gifts.
Food lovers can mark their calendars for the international tasting days, featuring flash tastings from over 20 countries and regions. Free samples include Australian blueberry juice, French red wine, Timor-Leste drip coffee, Spanish ready-to-eat ham, and more.
