Shanghai to host regional specialty products fair in September
This September, Shanghai will once again showcase regional culture and commerce as it hosts the 8th fair for specialty products from regions under paired assistance, scheduled from Sept 5 to 8 at the Shanghai Exhibition Center.
Spanning nearly 20,000 square meters across the entire venue, the fair will feature more than 600 booths showcasing specialty products from partner regions across China. Exhibitors include representatives from Kashgar, the Caohu project area, and Karamay in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. Additional participants will come from Inner Mongolia and Ningxia Hui autonomous regions, among other partners.
The fair will showcase a diverse range of offerings, from green and organic foods to handicrafts, cultural and creative products, local specialties, fresh produce, premium coffee, tea, and flowers. It promises not only a one-stop shopping experience for authentic regional goods, but also a chance for visitors to explore China's varied landscapes and rich cultures.
A special exhibition in the Central Hall will feature 16 large booths spotlighting green products from Yunnan, including fruit, coffee, tea, and flowers, alongside signature goods and tourism resources from other regions, providing visitors with both visual and cultural experiences.
The East Hall will host a coffee-themed cultural showcase, where visitors can sample Yunnan's finest brews, join latte art competitions, attend expert-led workshops, and enjoy other interactive events.
Meanwhile, the West Hall will feature attractions across two levels. The first floor will house a fruit pavilion dedicated to fresh and processed fruit products from partner regions. The second floor will present a pop-up supermarket in partnership with Freshippo, Alibaba Group's grocery and fresh goods retail chain, allowing sales to continue beyond the duration of the fair.
