Luxury fragrance house Diptyque has opened a limited-time pop-up at Zhangyuan in Shanghai, running through Oct 8. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the world of the Parisian brand, discovering its history, craftsmanship, and iconic scents.

The experience begins with a journey back to Diptyque's origins in 1960s Paris. Visitors can explore rare sketches, manuscripts, and archival pieces that reveal how three friends came together at 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain to create the brand. Vintage film projections further bring fragments of Diptyque's early story to life.

One section highlights the craftsmanship behind Diptyque's candles. From hand-blown glass to enamel-glazed ceramics, every stage of the process is showcased. A sound installation even recreates the subtle noises of the workshop, from the breath of glassblowing to the slicing of cooled wax, immersing guests in the rhythm of creation.

In another area, all 49 of Diptyque's celebrated candles are showcased together, forming a "library of scents" that pays tribute to the natural world with flowers, spices, herbs, and woods.

Visitors can also explore Diptyque's artistic home decor, including sculptural candle holders, vases, and other decorative pieces. At the same time, they can sample the brand's iconic perfumes, such as Do Son and Eau Rose, and take home a special testing card as a keepsake.

To complete the experience, a botanical cafe serves drinks inspired by Diptyque's fragrance ingredients, while an outdoor French-style garden invites guests to pause, relax, and soak in the atmosphere.
