From runways to riverbanks: Labelhood brings creative energy to Suhewan
The 20th Labelhood Pioneer Fashion & Arts Festival infused fresh energy into Suhewan from Oct 11 to 16, marking the event's debut in the riverside cultural area along Suzhou Creek.
As one of China's leading incubators for nurturing emerging fashion designers, Labelhood staged more than 10 debut runway shows featuring Spring/Summer 2026 collections from original Chinese designer brands at Suhe Haus and other historic venues.
More than a fashion event, Labelhood has evolved into a pioneering cultural community that connects and inspires young Chinese creatives through fashion, art, and lifestyle experiences.
Renowned as one of the most artistic areas along Suzhou Creek, Suhewan has become a hub for top cultural institutions, including Sotheby's Shanghai office, UCCA Edge, and Fotografiska Shanghai.
In recent years, the area has hosted major cultural events such as Beyond the Streets, the world's largest street art exhibition, and Sotheby's auction series. These international collaborations have drawn global artists and creatives, positioning Suhewan as a new center for cultural dialogue and innovation.
Fashion, too, has also found a natural home here. Two years ago, Louis Vuitton held its Hello, Shanghai pop-up at Fotografiska Shanghai, showcasing books, gifts, and travel and lifestyle collections that captivated both fashion lovers and cultural explorers.
Today, Suhewan continues to attract leading international brands and creative enterprises. The area is now home to global names such as Tapestry, Canada Goose, Longchamp, SMCP, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Yonex, reinforcing its reputation as one of Shanghai's most dynamic destinations where art, fashion, and business converge.
