Columbia Circle, a cultural landmark in Changning district, has launched a series of winter activities themed on warmth and togetherness. Running from Dec 24 and through the New Year, the program brings together markets, public art, and live music, creating a relaxed and creative setting for residents and visitors to explore, unwind, and connect.

At the heart of the program is a focus on blending art with everyday life. The highlight is the "Hey! Warm FuFu" market, taking place from Dec 24 to 28, which brings together more than 60 vendors offering handmade crafts, seasonal food, and original designs. Live music performances further enrich the atmosphere, inviting visitors to enjoy both daily pleasures and artistic touches within Columbia Circle's century-old historic buildings.

Also opening on Dec 24 is an outdoor art exhibition titled Irregular Growth, staged in the public space on the ground floor of Building 10. Co-created with more than 100 families, the exhibition showcases children's artworks and encourages reflection on growth and change. Free to the public, it will remain on view until March 2026.

As the New Year approaches, the artistic mood will continue with a series of small-scale New Year concerts. Performances will take place on Dec 24, Dec 28, and New Year's Day at the iconic Old Navy Club within the complex. String and brass ensembles will perform in the historic venue, offering a calm and elegant way to usher in the new year.

Tip: Tickets for the concerts start from 80 yuan ($11.38) per person and are available via the Columbia Circle WeChat account.

Beyond cultural activities, Changning district is also improving shopping convenience for consumers, particularly for inbound visitors. L'Avenue and Takashimaya Department Store have been designated as Shanghai's international-friendly malls. Based on existing tax refund and multilingual services, Changning has introduced a pilot "packaging and coding" service at selected malls, including Takashimaya and Cloud Nine, making customs clearance easier for travelers after shopping.

In addition, the district has also released bilingual "Shopping in Changning" guides, featuring recommended Citywalk routes. Together, these initiatives aim to help overseas visitors enjoy quality shopping and leisure experiences while celebrating the year-end and New Year season in Shanghai.
