Jaeger-LeCoultre brings 'Valley of Inventions' to Shanghai

Swiss luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre has brought its "Valley of Inventions" pop-up space to Zhangyuan in Shanghai's Jing'an district, showcasing the craftsmanship and watchmaking heritage of its birthplace, the Vallee de Joux, Switzerland.

Founded in 1833, the brand has developed more than 1,400 movements and obtained over 430 patents throughout its 193-year history.

The space is hosting the global debut of 10 limited-edition timepieces, including:

The Reverso Tribute Enamel "Turner" special edition is also making its Asian debut.

Visitors can step into a specially created laboratory that showcases Jaeger-LeCoultre's High Precision Guarantee testing protocol. This includes simulated tests for altitude, shocks, positions, and temperature. They can also explore the brand's watch decoration techniques, gaining insight into how these decorative elements originally served practical functions in traditional watchmaking.

On site, four specialist watchmaking techniques are being demonstrated, with Jaeger-LeCoultre artisans sharing insights into their intricate work. The demonstrations cover key areas: watch finishing, assembly of the movement used in the Master Control Chronometre, and different types of tourbillon mechanisms, including the brand's Gyrotourbillon A Stratosphere multi-axis tourbillon.
