Let's Speak Chinese 01: Scan to pay and steamed dumplings
At a recent gathering at the Shanghai Innovation and Creative Design Institute, more than 10 international professionals from leading universities, research institutions, and foreign enterprises in the city took part in the "Experience Chinese in Hongkou" program. The event provided participants with a unique opportunity for immersion in both the Chinese language and culture.
To share the words and phrases they learned with fellow enthusiasts of Shanghai and Chinese culture, the participants filmed a short video series titled "Let's Speak Chinese", introducing local customs, cuisine, and the city's convenient lifestyle.
In the first episode, Milad Jalali, a postdoctoral researcher from Iran at Tongji University, teaches two practical terms related to shopping and dining: "scan to pay" and "steamed dumpling". He shares insights from his personal experience using food delivery apps while living in Shanghai.
