The Shanghai Museum East features four interactive rooms that facilitate a variety of cultural tourist activities. It is also home to Cuio-city, the Digital Gallery, the Open Conservation Lab, and a souvenir shop featuring cultural and creative products.

Cuio-city is a 1,900-square-meter immersive space located on the museum's third and fourth floors. It caters to children, youth aged 6-18, and families, with experiences such as "Little Archaeologist", "Little Restorer", and "Little Curator" that teach visitors about archaeology, cultural relics research, restoration, and museum-related activities. The program aims to instill a love for museums and traditional Chinese culture.

The Digital Gallery focuses on interactive experiences that enhance visitors' understanding of cultural relics and the development of Chinese civilization. The inaugural exhibition Poetic Jiangnan employs digital technology to create an immersive environment that showcases ancient Chinese paintings from the Five Dynasties (AD 907-960) to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

The Open Conservation Lab promotes cultural relic protection and restoration. It emphasizes the importance of conservation efforts as well as traditional and modern restoration techniques. Visitors can also witness museum staff conduct real restoration work on artifacts, gaining insight into the complexities of preservation and restoration processes.

The souvenir shop is located on the first floor of the Shanghai Museum East and spans 1,000 square meters. It combines interactive experiences, cultural exhibitions, intangible cultural heritage items, leisure, and consumption.
