Jing'an joins night festival with full lineup of experiences

As the warm early summer breezes sweep through the city, the 2025 Shanghai Night Festival kicked off on June 6 for a season-long celebration of nighttime culture, consumption and entertainment.

Running from June through September, the festival will feature over 130 themed nighttime events. Jing'an district — one of Shanghai's iconic commercial hubs — is joining the celebration with a series of great experiences across rooftops, parks, waterfronts and public transit spaces.

The annual Shanghai Craft Beer Festival returns to Suhewan MixC World shopping mall. This year's edition has expanded to feature over 70 top domestic and international breweries offering more than 300 craft beer selections. From June 13 to 15, beer lovers can enjoy interactive experiences, creative merchandise and a festive atmosphere from noon to late at night.

 

Night Feast at the Rooftop

Located on the 9th floor of Jing'an Joy City's North Tower, the Night Feast at the Rooftop offers a foodie paradise that is open until 3 am. With 11 popular eateries serving hot pot, BBQ and classic Chinese night market fare, the venue also hosts live music performances and includes rooftop access to the city's iconic Ferris wheel. Exclusive perks like late-night free parking and direct rooftop access all add to the appeal.

 

Night art project

Continuing a collaboration since 2022, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art will once again present a series of public art activities. The initiative aims to infuse Shanghai's night economy with artistic energy through exhibitions, installations and community art events, exploring the creative potential of the urban nightscape.

 

Customized night buses

For the first time, Jiushi Public Transportation Group has launched a special bus line connecting major nightlife landmarks such as the Bund Finance Center, Xintiandi, HKRI Taikoo Hui, Jiuguang Department Store and Columbia Circle. From June 13 to July 6, passengers who spend over 66 yuan (about $9) at participating malls can redeem their tickets for the special night bus, which runs Fridays through Sundays. Riders may even stumble upon surprise onboard performances or collect limited-edition ticket stubs.
