At the event, three diplomat students from Uruguay, Hungary, and Japan delivered speeches in Chinese, sharing their experiences during the program. They also expressed heartfelt gratitude to ECNU for hosting the program and creating a valuable platform for cultural exchange among diplomats.

Held annually from March to June, the Diplomats' Program at ECNU is designed and organized by the International Education Center. By offering Chinese language courses tailored to the unique needs of diplomats, alongside enriching cultural activities, the program has garnered widespread acclaim from consulates in Shanghai over the years. This year’s program featured expert lectures on contemporary Chinese societal transformations and Chinese feng shui – the Chinese study of geomantic omens used to determine the auspicious location and orientation of buildings and rooms – as well as a party to celebrate and experience Dragon Boat Festival customs. Participants enjoyed hands-on activities such as making zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), crafting scented sachets, making rice cakes, and creating bamboo fans.
