SUFE summer business program raps up in style

The Shanghai Summer School - China Business Program, hosted by the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, wound up with style and panache on July 19.

The three-week program featured business Chinese courses, lectures on contemporary Chinese business topics, cultural experiences and more.

1. Business Chinese courses

The program offered a range of Chinese courses especially tailored to the proficiency levels of the students. They aimed to enhance their business Chinese skills and communications abilities, focusing on business-specific vocabulary and interaction techniques.

2. Lectures on cutting-edge Chinese business topics

Three comprehensive lectures delved into the latest trends and challenges in Chinese business – providing the students with invaluable knowledge and industry insights.

3. Company visits

Students visited leading enterprises in various sectors, including the RCEP Enterprise Service Consultation Center (Hongqiao), the Great Knowledge and Innovation Community Park and the GoEast Mandarin Language School.

These visits offered students insights into business operations, corporate culture, investment knowledge and industry competitiveness.

4. Business practice activities

Students experienced the diversity and dynamism of the Chinese business environment firsthand at the Freshippo supermarkets and other business operations in Shanghai, which allowed them to explore popular commercial business models in the country.

5. Chinese cultural experience

Tai chi and tea ceremonies – integral parts of Chinese culture – provided the students with great experiences, allowing them to appreciate the charms of traditional Chinese culture and to gain a deeper understanding of its spirit.
