Summer school inspires international students at Tongji University
Tongji University launched the Global Entrepreneur Summer School on Aug 9, bringing together 27 participants from 12 countries, including China, Germany, Mexico, and South Africa, for a seven-day innovation-focused program.
This year's program continues its tradition of fostering entrepreneurial skills and driving cross-border exchanges through an intensive curriculum.
Professor Xie En, dean of the School of Economics and Management at Tongji University, emphasized the summer school's decade-long legacy and its "Four I" spirit — innovation, inclusion, integration, and impact.
Teacher representative Carola Vogel shared insights from her entrepreneurial experience in previous editions. Alumni representative Li Yi'an reflected on how the program's ethos of "Learn, Serve, and Connect" shaped his career. Mati Ur Rehman, one of this year's participants, shared how volunteering in the 2024 program broadened his perspective. He expressed hopes that this year's program would further promote cross-cultural exchange.
Following the opening ceremony, participants were briefed on the program rules before diving into icebreaker games and interactive activities that fostered team spirit and helped them get to know one another.
The activities sparked cross-cultural friendships, culminating in a lively talent show filled with laughter and creativity.
As the program progresses, they will not only sharpen practical skills but also strengthen a growing network of entrepreneurs committed to tackling global challenges.
