The opening ceremony of the 11th International Culture Festival of Shanghai University kicked off on May 10, weaving a vibrant tapestry of diverse cultures. The festival, themed "New Chapter Go Global SHUers", attracted thousands of Chinese and foreign teachers and students from over 30 countries on opening day.

Speaking at the event, Wang Lina, Party head of the university's office of international affairs, said the festival will serve as a bridge to promote cultural exchanges among talented youths from various countries. The annual festival gathers students from Egypt, Japan, Thailand, Russia, China and other countries to set up booths to display their home cultural products.

At the Egyptian booths, Asmaa Ramadan Metwally Abusamak, who has a PHD in Global Studies, shared her own souvenirs to visitors. This is her third year preparing for the International Culture Festival.

"As Chinese students are really interested to discover about my country, I try to present as much of it as I can", she said.

The International Culture Festival of Shanghai University has been held 10 times, highlighting the university's internationalization process.

During this festival, a total of 29 activities in three categories will be held from May to June, including academic lectures, practical activities and art activities.
