In late May, international students from Shanghai University embarked on a two-day study tour to Wuxi in Jiangsu province.

Their journey began at Huishan Ancient Town, a place steeped in history and adorned with numerous historical sites. Strolling through the town felt like stepping back in time. At Huishan Spring, renowned as the Second Spring Under Heaven, students recited ancient poems and inscriptions, immersing themselves in the wisdom and emotions of the past.

At Yuantouzhu (Turtle Head Isle), students listened to their teachers' insights about Taihu Lake. The allure of the lake lies not only in its scenic landscapes and natural beauty, but also in its rich historical significance.

As night descended, the students explored Nanchang Street, which becomes an enchanting haven under the glowing lights. They wandered through the ancient alleys, admired various traditional handicrafts, savored Wuxi's local delicacies, and engaged with both locals and tourists.

On the second day of their journey, the students visited Three Kingdoms City, a film and television base that was designed to replicate the historical period of the Three Kingdoms (220-280). They were captivated by spectacular performances and learned about the historical stories of that era, deepening their understanding of Chinese history and traditional culture.

The final stop of this tour was the Shuai Yuan Zisha Museum, a renowned museum dedicated to the art of clay pottery. Here, the students had the opportunity to engage in the intricate processes of shaping and carving pottery works. The hands-on experience of crafting clay teapots captivated them, deepening their appreciation for Chinese tea culture.
