Tongji University hosts 2025 New Year Gala celebrating multicultural fusion

Tongji University hosted its 2025 New Year Gala on Dec 14, uniting students from over 20 countries, including China, France, Italy, and Japan, in a vibrant celebration of cultural fusion through music and dance.

The gala was structured into three chapters, ranging from the profound heritage of Chinese traditions to the allure of global customs.

The "Melodies of China" chapter opened with classic songs that allowed the audience to appreciate the intricacy and deep emotions of Chinese culture. A stunning dragon dance performance depicted the beauty of nature, while a song incorporating traditional opera elements merged classical and modern styles.

In the "Radiant Lights" chapter, a band performance electrified the atmosphere, followed by a dance and a piano duet that highlighted the agility and creativity of modern art. A Nepali folk dance and a Peking Opera piece illustrated the unique charm of traditional arts.

The "Voices of Youth" chapter showcased the vitality and courage of youth with energetic songs, culminating in a heartfelt melody that brought the gala to its climax. The closing dance, performed by all participants, symbolized a brilliant chapter crafted by the convergence of diverse cultures.
