Shanghai Donglei Brain Hospital hosted a medical exchange event on Oct 18, offering 47 international students from the Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University a first-hand look at China's neurosurgical practices.

Following an international strategy, the hospital has been establishing a comprehensive transnational medical cooperation system focused on technology exchange, talent cultivation, and service integration.

Under the guidance of neurosurgeon Mohamed Helmy, the students observed micro-anastomosis in cerebral vascular bypass surgery, a key neurosurgical technique.

Through watching surgical videos, they gained an in-depth understanding of the technique's indications, operational principles, and clinical benefits.

Founded in 1927, Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University is a prestigious institution located in Xuhui district. It offers a comprehensive range of programs across 10 undergraduate disciplines and nine doctoral first-level disciplines, supported by eight postdoctoral research stations. With over 10,900 students and a distinguished faculty including 15 academicians and more than 200 national-level talents, the college maintains 10 academic units and 18 affiliated hospitals.

Many students said that this visit not only deepened their understanding of China's medical technology achievements, but also inspired them to pursue further collaboration with Chinese medical institutions.
