Recently, the Yichuan area in Shanghai's Putuo district welcomed a special visitor: a Peruvian international student who goes by the Chinese name "Xinyi" (欣怡).
Walking into the "Suzhou Creek Half Marathon Station · 1690 Party-mass service center" with her camera to shoot a vlog, she discovered a lively and convenient "treasure trove". In her eyes, this place is much more than a service center; it feels like a "mini-world" that captures the essence of Shanghai's community life.
She was surprised to discover that all daily needs — including meals and cultural activities — are available here.
As an international student, she also appreciated the wide range of academic resources available. She found the quiet reading environment of the "Suzhou Creek Study Room" to be the perfect spot for self-study.
Walking along the "Suzhou Creek corridor", she traced the historical transformation of the Suzhou Creek from a "rust belt" of industry into a lively "show belt" of life. This corridor acted like a window, giving her a profound understanding of Shanghai's development and culture.
Through her lens, she documented everything and genuinely sensed that at the Yichuan service center, convenience and warmth are always within reach.
"Not only has this place created an ideal community for local residents," she said, "but it has also provided international students like me with a 'home' — a place to study, relax, integrate, and feel the warmth of Shanghai."
