The International Student Service Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University held a career guidance exchange event for international students at the Minhang Campus on Oct 14.

The event brought together representatives from neoBay, a startup investment company, officers from Exit-Entry Administration of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau, distinguished alumni, and corporate recruiters to share practical guidance on career development. More than a hundred international students from various faculties participated in the session.

Xu Yang, manager of the International Cooperation Department at neoBay, introduced the company's mission, vision, ecosystem development, and expansion strategies, emphasizing its role in nurturing innovative and entrepreneurial talent.

Officers from Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau gave detailed presentations on internships and employment procedures for international students in China, clarifying relevant policies and key requirements.

Nagendra Rijal Upadhaya (那哲), who earned his bachelor's degree in Electronic Science and Technology in 2010 and his master's in 2013, shared his personal journey of growth and entrepreneurship in China. Now serving as chief operating officer and chief compliance officer at Shanghai Wicresoft, he reflected on the challenges and opportunities of pursuing a career in China, and encouraged students to develop clear, long-term career plans.

During the corporate recruitment and exchange session, Envision Energy and Wind Information Technology introduced their company profiles, global strategies, talent development programs, and campus recruitment plans for 2026 graduates. Their presentations offered international students valuable insight into industry trends and employer expectations.

Following the presentations, HR representatives held one-on-one discussions with students, offering guidance on individual career development.

Many participants said the event helped them gain a clearer understanding of their career direction and provided insights on pursuing internship and employment opportunities in China.
