Shanghai International Studies University's International Student Office invited 21 students from 13 countries to experience China's latest advancements in artificial intelligence through an immersive event titled "Learn in China, Thrive in China, Tecent AI's Got You Covered" on Nov 12.

The event kicked off with a presentation from Tencent engineers, who introduced the core functions and distinctive advantages of Tencent's AI large language model tools, such as Tencent Yuanbao, Hunyuan, and Ima.

During the hands-on session, students explored Ima's quick-response capabilities for personalized recommendations. The event culminated with the AI Creative Workshop, where participants were challenged to design a New Year campus event.

Working in teams of three to five, students used the Hunyuan tool to generate plans and create posters. Groups collaborated on themes, AI prompts, and some refining visual designs, yielding diverse results ranging from a food culture festival to an international ball, with posters ranging from retro styles to Chinese-anime fusion.

In the selection of the most creative team, two groups tied in the initial vote and were invited to make brief live pitches. One team highlighted food and AI interactive games, while the other promoted a multicultural exchange party. In the final tally, the food-and-AI concept won, and the team received Tencent's penguin mascots as a prize.

Many participants shared how much they gained from this experience. One student from Serbia compared them with other AI software to identify unique features. Another student from Iran said that while many global AI tools have complex registration processes or charge for certain functions, Tencent's AI remains open and free for users, promoting the inclusivity of technology.

This event marked the second collaboration between SISU's International Student Office and Tencent. Both parties aim to build a platform for international students to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese technology while promoting cross-cultural exchange.
