International students explore Shanghai's ecological charm in Fengxian

The College of International Education at East China University of Science and Technology organized an immersive cultural tour in Fengxian district on the afternoon of Nov 14.

Students from countries including Saudi Arabia, Russia, Costa Rica, Morocco, and Mongolia gained unique insights into Shanghai's cultural diversity while witnessing the seamless integration of natural ecology and urban development in the district.

The trip began at "Shanghai Fish", an landmark in Fengxian New City, where students admired the harmonious coexistence of lakes, green spaces, and modern architecture while strolling along the lakeside. They expressed appreciation for the fusion of ecological landscapes and contemporary urban planning.

The students then visited the Wave Cube science and technology museum, where they enjoyed a theatrical performance. The exploration of light-shadow artistry and futuristic interactive technology offered them a glimpse into Shanghai's innovative urban art and digital visual design.

They also visited the Fengxian District Museum. Through ancient artifacts, scene reconstructions, and stories from the guides, the students deepened their understanding of the city's regional culture.

The journey concluded at the Yanzi Academy, where students immersed themselves in the Zen-inspired cultural space, learning about the philosophies and wisdom of traditional Chinese culture and its spiritual heritage.

Some participants shared that the journey provided them with a valuable opportunity to have a closer connection with the spirit of Shanghai.
