The College of International Education at Shanghai Business School recently organized a unique color painting experience for international students, providing participants from diverse backgrounds with an immersive introduction to Chinese artistic and the fusion of cultures.

The event drew inspiration from traditional Chinese floral motifs, using vibrant colors to depict cultural symbols and showcase the charm of Silk Road civilization through brushstrokes.

Using low-irritation, easily washable paints, the students created their own designs on their arms. They learned various techniques such as line drawing, color blending, and three-dimensional shaping, to bring traditional Chinese floral patterns to life.

Many students took photos of the blooming flowers on their arms and expressed their appreciation for the floral motifs. Anudari, a student from Mongolia, shared that the activity not only helped them learn about the cultural stories behind these designs but also offered them new insights: the ancient Silk Road trade was not just a trade route but a conduit for cultural and artistic exchange.
