Zhen Laodafang, a distinguished brand founded in 1851, has recently reopened after a year and a half of extensive renovations.

This time-honored brand, located on East Nanjing Road in Shanghai's Huangpu district, has undergone significant upgrades to enhance its aesthetic appeal and operational capacity.

The most notable change is the building's facade, which now features a vintage and elegant design that complements the surrounding architecture of Nanjing Road and Century Square. The exterior is adorned with sculptures depicting iconic figures from old Shanghai, creating a nostalgic atmosphere for visitors.

Internally, the first floor has been redesigned with a modern and youthful theme, expanding the retail space to 186 square meters. LED screens throughout the store narrate the rich history of Zhen Laodafang, highlighting its signature products such as fresh meat mooncakes and smoked fish.

The establishment now spans five floors. The first floor remains dedicated to retail, while the second and third floors include a dim sum shop and a Shanghai-style restaurant aimed at tourists and local professionals. The fourth floor serves as a pastry workshop for production and development, while the fifth floor is divided between a food processing facility and an intangible cultural heritage studio.

In addition to physical upgrades, Zhen Laodafang has refreshed its branding with packaging that incorporates its new logo and important historical markers. This revitalization aims to convey the brand's commitment to quality and craftsmanship while embracing modernity.
