Huangpu, first choice for brands to enter Chinese and Shanghai markets
Huangpu district in Shanghai, renowned for its three world-class business districts — Nanjing Road, Middle Huaihai Road, and Yuyuan Garden, has emerged as the preferred destination for numerous renowned brands entering China and Shanghai. According to Data Quest China, Huangpu welcomed 125 first stores in the first half of 2024, ranking first among all districts in the city.
The recent influx of high-profile first stores has provided strong support for Shanghai's construction as an international consumption center, while also bringing fresh experiences to consumers and demonstrating the market's innovation and vitality, hinting at new possibilities in future consumption trends.
The transformed Shanghai Women's Articles Store, now known as LADY Huaihai, aims to give fashion a fresh new role in the lives of Shanghai residents through seven diverse first stores. Middle Huaihai Road has also witnessed the grand opening of two prominent stores: the i.t blue block Shanghai flagship and BEAMS' maiden standalone outlet in the city, collectively showcasing a trendy spectacle across nearly 3,000 square meters, inclusive of exclusive limited editions.
Nanjing Road has unlocked youth power with its pop culture, with MINISO LAND, the global flagship store of MINISO, starting trial operations. In Yuyuan Garden, Paul Smith's new Shanghai flagship store has opened at the Bund Finance Center, blending Eastern life aesthetics with Western charm.
Huangpu's three business districts continue to lead the way in the retail sector, setting new benchmarks with their diverse and innovative first store offerings.
