Zikawei Library, located at the core of the Xujiahui Scenic Area, not only has a beautiful exterior and interior designed by both Chinese and foreign designers, but it also hosts cultural and tourism functions. It also has a large-scale layout of cultural and creative shops, cafes, and other facilities integrated with the library space, a breakthrough for public libraries in Shanghai.

The total area is 18,650 square meters, divided into two underground floors and three above-ground floors, with nearly 800 seats. More than 150 years ago, the "Xujiahui Museum" was born in the current location of Zikawei Library. Many precious specimens collected in the Shanghai Natural History Museum come from here. This timeless cultural heritage has been passed down for three centuries and is now infused into Zikawei Library, becoming the Haipai gene of a "library of time".
