Adidas doubles down on Shanghai with new HQ
The world-leading sportswear company Adidas announced its plans to relocate its Greater China headquarters to Westbund Central, an ultra-premium commercial complex in Shanghai's Xuhui district, by the fourth quarter of 2026.
The 18-story office building, with a total floor area of 32,400 square meters, will accommodate more than 1,500 employees. The workplace will feature a full-floor fitness center and a variety of amenities, emphasizing sustainability, digital empowerment, and a culture of co-creation and collaboration.
Moreover, the office building is conveniently located near the Adidas Runbase. As the brand's first 24/7 public-welfare running hub in China, this landmark venue has served as a premier destination for local running enthusiasts for a decade and contributes to Shanghai's reputation as a world-renowned sports city.
Adrian Siu, managing director of Adidas Greater China, said that the relocation to West Bund underscores the brand's commitment to expanding its presence in the Chinese market and solidifying Shanghai's role as its strategic hub.
Stretching gracefully along the Huangpu River, Westbund Central is the largest-ever single investment by property developer Hongkong Land. Upon completion in 2028, it is set to become a new landmark in Shanghai, redefining the urban living experience.
The 1.7 million-square-meter mixed-use complex allocates 650,000 square meters for Grade-A offices across 12 buildings, alongside luxury shopping and culinary options, premium residences, hotels, and cultural facilities. Adidas will be one of the first four major tenants to settle in the project's initial phase.
